Dear Council 82 Members,

With heavy heart I ask for assistance for one of my members Jeffrey Winters. Jeff was involved in a motorcycle accident on October 20, 2018 in the City of Rome NY. He broke both hips, his right foot and a bone in his right leg. He is out of work and expected to be out until April of 2019. Rehabilitation will be a long road.

A benefit has been planned for January 20th, 2019 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Eagle Hill Golf Course 10513 Cosby Manor Rd, Utica NY. Any assistance that you can offer would be welcomed, attendance would be amazing. A basket raffle is planned, bake sale, and a 50/50.

Jeff has been employed with the department since 2003 with a lot to show for it.

He works the Transport unit and worked hard to get there. A time donation has been set up by the department to donate either compensatory time or vacation time. I have donated 5 days to start and will continue to work overtime to help Jeff out in this manner. Our Local has made a monetary donation to Jeff and this benefit was set up by members of the Local with assistance from his Family.

Everyone makes plans, no one plans for hard times during the Christmas season and beyond. I plan on standing by the ones who would stand by me in a time of need.

In Solidarity

Kevin D Sheridan Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament

You are cordially invited to participate in the first annual Kevin D. Sheridan Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament. Kevin’s wife Dodee has established a Foundation in Kevin’s name which will benefit the National Autism Society along with the development of a Scholarship program for local youth. If you had the pleasure of knowing Kevin than you know that the term “Larger than Life” was the best way to describe his character. He gave his heart and soul to his union work as well as his endeavors regarding the Emerald Society and Emerald Society Pipe band. The details of the event are outlined in the Tournament flyer which is enclosed for your convenience.

Please help us to get his Foundation off to resounding start by participating in the event or becoming a sponsor.
