Decision & Order-Council 82 Local 3471 et al v. City of Geneva et al
New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82 Associate Counsel Christine Granich-Caputo wins a huge victory over the City of Geneva in New York State Supreme Court (Ontario County) regarding its attempt to establish a Police Review Board with disciplinary powers through a Local Law which violates the Civil Service Law, the Taylor Law, and the disciplinary provisions our Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Judge declared the Local Law “invalid, void, and unenforceable” and permanently enjoined the City of Geneva from implementing or putting the Local Law into effect. This is an awesome win for law enforcement officers and unions in New York.
